Chicbaby Studio is a small, handmade-in-USA personalization studio founded on February 22, 2021 by Cindy Chan, a mom of two and a former digital marketer. What started as a few embroidered name patches for her own kids became a 120,000-order business with an 18,000-five-star-review reputation and a 4.9-star average rating.

Why "handmade" actually means something here

We don't print, we don't drop-ship, and we don't outsource overseas. Every backpack, duffel, jean jacket, sweatshirt, and pouch is hand-finished by our small team of makers in our MA workshop. Each name patch is sewn or ironed individually. Decorative patches are positioned and pressed by hand. Quality control happens twice — once at the patching station, once before shipping.

This is why we ship in 1–2 business days even though every order is custom. A larger personalization brand has to batch orders. A small handmade studio can finish your dancer's recital bag the morning we receive the order.

The dance community story

Our personalized dance duffel bag became our bestseller almost by accident. A dance mom in Massachusetts ordered one in spring 2022, posted a photo to her studio's Instagram, and within a week we had 40 orders from the same studio. Today, dance, gymnastics, and cheer families are the largest single segment of our customer base. We work with dance studios across the country on bulk orders for recital teams, competition squads, and senior gifts.

About the founder

Cindy Chan founded Chicbaby Studio in February 2021 after a decade in digital marketing and product strategy. The studio began with embroidered heart patches for her own children's school backpacks — when other parents at school pickup started asking where she'd bought them, she opened an Etsy shop. The first order arrived on February 22, 2021. Within a year, she was hand-finishing dozens of orders per day from her dining-room table.
